87 s-10 406cu with a 5-spd?
Thursday, September 14, 2006 7:36 PM
I built this thing a few years back, did some upgrades last winter. Dont know what else to do with it. Any suggestions.
There is more info in my profile.
I was thinking about a color change but I dont know what color.
The front was converted to a 93 gmc last winter , rear lights are shaved along with the gate, led lights in the roll pan and 2 1/2 dual exhaust with 2 chamber flomasters.

Here is the motor, its a screamer.

1000cfm TB

Interior shot with my cow seat and edelbrock programmer

polished aluminum fuel cell and battery relocated

I know you said you did the led's in the roll pan, but I found an s10 in my area with the vertical Cadillac tail lamps in place of the stock tail lamps. That looked cool, though the look was ruined with a huge Cadillac symbol on the tail gate... Go with a solid gloss black for paint. Kick @$$ S10 by the way.

Either sell it to me for $2000, or redo the interior in black, then sell it to me for $1500

OK where do you want me to deliver it to?

I thought about selling it but I sold it once and had to buy it back 2 years after.

I thought about black, but man thats alot of work to get it straight enough for black.
I still may go for the black.

The tranny is the stock T-5 out of a 91 s-10 with a 4 banger. I beat on it pretty often and still holding up.
(Im crossing my fingers as I say that)
The only major prob that I had with the stick install was the blow proof bellhousing. I had to do some major mods to it.

What color interior are we talking if I was to go with black outside?

When you say full autometer dash, are you saying to pull the cluster and put individual gauges in?

redo the cluster with autometer gauges, get some racing seats and 4 points, and maybe a cage. black carpeting... make the interior black.

Redo the interior in tan, with leather seats, and paint the exterior flat black with a nice flame job on the front.

Or maybe do a chop top, or targa, even a convertable top would be cool.

I like the bigger rims Idea Maybe 17's but the supercharger might be a little much. I dont have a horsepower issue at all. Plus I dont think the superchargers are all that, especially for the money, and on a v-8 of this size. I would go with twin turbo's if I really thought that the little truck needed it. Then I would have to tub it and narrow the rearend to get a bigger tire under there. Thats a whole other can of worms there. Lots of cash needed too.

I thought about a tan interior and red paint at one time. Maybe red and silver 2 tone with a blowing/ tearing checker flag down the side seperating the colors. Not really a fan of flat paints. It makes it look like your hiding bad body work. Just like the white that I have now.
Gotta be shiney like a mirror for me.

Back in the day when this body style was popular , there were countless mods available. They sold convertable tops, Chop top kits that made the roof removeable, T top kits, ground effects, fancy body kits that had full panels that glued on the quarters. I think they were called truckserosa , or something like that. Any way since there are fewer and fewer of these out there, the fancy stuff isnt avail. anymore. At least no where that I have looked.
The only thing the body is getting is the fuel door shaved.
I know Im getting rid of that damn lift off hood. Im getting a small cowl thats hinged , small so I can still open the hood and not bend up my wipers.

The biggest thing is the interior, I never really did care for it but it served its purpose.
I thought about getting rid of the door panels and making new ones, go to some really nice racing buckets, Jegs and summit are starting to sell a better variety of them now. The gauges are a good Idea, I kind of have them scattered right now. I would have to put the AFR gauge in a pod though, unless I can get AEM gauges to match it. Does any one know If AEM makes other gauges besides Air fuel gauges?

Exterrior of the truck is fine, but the front end is killing it. The grill looks spray painted white along with the bumpers. Sometime needs to happen here to set everything off. Like clean the bumper up and put in a billet grill. Or give it a good black paint job on the grill. Something just doesn't look right here. It needs set off. It could be just the picture though.

Everyones asking for your truck, while I agree you dont have to give me the whole truck. Just your engine will do fine =P

I'd kinda like to see larger wheels and some sort of mild body kit, like the factory Cameo one.

I have a chrome GMC grille for a 93 in there now. Im getting a billet insert and a chrome bumper soon.

i didnt buy any mount kit. I made everything.
The motormounts are 350 connecting rods(solid mount)
Tranny is a stock T-5 out of a 91 s-10. Clutch disk is a special 13 spline from centerforce. The The input shaft, well its the sleve that the throw out bearing rides had to be cut. Trimmed about an inch off there.
Bell housing is a lakewood blowproof for a camaro. I had to cut the slave cylinder bracket off and relocate it.

Ill get some more pics on here.

New grille.

Motor mount

Clutch setup, From the side the trans bolts to, this is located at about 7:00.
The only place it would fit because of the 2 1/2 exhaust.
