Ok just wondering how to do a proper burnout lol. ive never tried but i dont know how. Im not planning on doing it in the cavy, im hopeing to get an F-body soon so it'll have more horsepower. How do you do it in a manual?
lol, just mash the go pedal, unless your in a honda civic,.........in that case, you can't do one at all!

I love watching FWD's do burnouts. Because 99% don't have LSD so its just a pathetic one wheel burn out coming from the wrong end of the car.
Well as most people know you can power brake in auto. You can do the same in a manual its just a little harder and you have to have more power at the start. Rev the car up and dump the clutch. Once the tires break traction do a heel toe to hold the brake and give it some gas. It doesn't work as well but it slows the car down a bit.
well duh, i know you just "mash the go pedal" but like how do some manage to shift while doing it, and keep from moving. Do you use the Ebrake, or the footbrake..

Assunming you are still talking about RWD (since your first post)
e-brake would lock up the rears only....you want the rears to spin freely
Most do it shifting gears (manual trans) with a line-lock (locks only the front brakes)..otherwise it's pretty hard to do cuase the brake just stops the wheel from spinning.

Well, if you throw down a little water first it breaks traction off the bat a little easier. With the gearing in my car if I throw down some water I can actually start out in second and get it to burn em. Otherwise when I shift I lose the burnout because I get too much traction with not enough power.
ah ok gotcha, so if it doesn't have line-lock, i pretty much have to count on the horsies to get em spinning and i cant do anything bout the sliding im guessing. Ok thanks.

i used to hang out with a bunch of guys with civics and they were amazed that i could leave two rubber marks instead of one
those were fun days
auto - gas+brake
manual- rev and let the clutch go

pour antifreeze on your front tire (FWD) pull ebrake (auto) mash the gas...................watch the smoke blow........................................ just dont let the EPA catch you.
I usually rev to 4k and then dump the clutch and go.. I prefer not to use the brakes at all.

Let off the brake, slowly start to roll backwards while letting off the clutch, see a car behind you, freak out, drop teh cluth and slam the gas peddle, do burnout around corner. True story.

If its auto, and you hit both the gas and brake and nothing happens, then u just dont got enought power. and DO NOT tranny drop it. And no offense, but if u have to ask this question, than it might be too hard for u in a manual.
I really hope that guy isn't serious about a line lock on a FWD car...
