Dodge Durango Catching Fire

Just wondering if anyone has heard anything about this..

I was driving home from my brothers soccer game yesterday and there was a line of cars on the side of the road, i amost got into an accident from the dumbass's slowing down and pulling over in a 55mph zone. Anyways I smelled smoke and looked over and there were 3 cars on fire in the dealership. A salesman was driving to work and as he pulled in noticed smoke coming out of the dash of his spanking new 2005 Durango.

Maybe it was planned, as he is a ford salesman at a ford dealership but bought a dodge from across the street haha.

But seriously, is this an isolated case or has anyone heard of other durangos going up.

The source of the fire is unknown at this time. They just know it started in the dash.

@!#$ happens. I remember when I worked for Honda, we had to replace all the ignition switches on every freaking model that didn't have a chipped key from like 95-99 because they could over heat and start fires in the dash. Man, I remember doing hundreds of those damn recalls. Good thing though, cause now I know how to steal all the non chipped Hondas.

I believe there is a recall for the Durangos for a wiring problem that causes fires.

Ive seen 2 burns at work. one looked like a radio fire (isolated to the dash area)
the second was a total interior burn.

well after looking it up, they are @!#$ horrible. I cant belive the problems they have had.

The durango is gone. I checked it out today while i was looking at a Trailblazer they had, and wow. Nothing left but the skeleton. Worse than Bomex's cavalier after it burned..
