I have a '95 blazer and about every 5 seconds, the idle increases about 500rpms, and then back down. If it's in gear like at a stoplight, when the rpm's increase like that, the truck will creep forward even with the brake applied. I think it might be some kind of sensor, but i'm not sure. Anyone know whats going on?

had a similar problem on a family members ford escape except the rpms would drop then jump back up.

ended up being a vacuum line from teh crank case was cracked.
