thinking about getting a 99-04 mustang Gt
Sunday, October 01, 2006 8:44 PM
hey whats up guys, ive been looking for new cars and so far the only one that peak my intrest in my price range (around 8-9k) is the 99-04 mustang GT. now i know some of you will say o get a camaro but to be honest I hate the interior on the 98+ Z28's and after coming from a BMW the GT much more suits my needs in that department.

so what can someone tell me some stuff on them or direct me to some good sites?

if you can give me some other options on some other cars that are in this range that be great too... and yes i know about GTP's lol

Have you checked out the interior on trans am's? I think they have a better interior than the camaros.

The 99+ stangs have nice interiors. I just don't like were the shifter is placed...

yeah the trans am's interior is slightly better but there very hard to find around here but the mustangs still out does them both in that reguard. Yes I agree the shifter placement is kinda sucky but livable

it's not how fast you go, it's how you get there that counts.

Just to name a few. I think you will love the stang! I had a 95 Mustang Gt vert 5spd (gave it to my pops) and I had a blast in it. You can do so much with those cars. If you can... I would try to get an older SVT mustang. Keep you eyes out there for good deals. One bad part about buying used stangs is that the sellers think they are made of gold and wont work on price with ya. Good luck and stick to your guns!!!

i love it when people say that
and, it's not just LS1's. stock stangs are just slow
i would, however, be willing to excuse you if you purchased an '03 '04 cobra. those are just sick

^I think the dude blew the motor "chucking too many revs at hondas" lol

It sounds like it's been beat, and the seats and hood are gross. If you could talk him down it might be worth a shot....

That GTP may have a good price but when the guy says it runs great and then puts this further on in the ad:
"...Sun roof doesn't work. Supercharger is making a rattling noise. Exhaust leak..."

I dont know bout you but it would kinda make me think twice. its up to you though. Good luck on the car shopping!

well think if its just and exhaust leak and a burnt supercharger then thats only a few hundred for me to fix the sunroof working or not doesnt bother me but i could fix that as well .. but does sound like alots been wrong with it lol

Take your time. Dont rush into a bad decision. It took me 6 months to find my Mustang and boy did I look at P.O.S before I found my gem! Remember good things come to those who wait.

the "supercharger rattling" is the coupler goin out. a new blower would cost you $300+. get a new coupler, $35+ 2 hrs labor for yourself. all better.
exhaust leak... they need new exhaust anyway, perticularly downpipe and u-bend delete.
now, the part that worries me is the rebuild tranny and new head gasket. yeah, they've been replaced, but those dont usually go out by now unless you beat the crap out of the cars. especially the head gasket. and the price is way way way low. kinda worries me a little too. keep lookin if you want a GTP or a stang. your car's out there, you've just gotta wait till you find it.
