so yeah like the topic says im already wanting to sell the trans am. Im not exactly sure why though the loud as hell exhaust sound is driving me nuts but im pretty sure thats not it... I fear I may have been tainted by German engineering

I think what happend is once I got over massive amount of power this car has I realized there just wasnt enough to keep me interested

...this cant be.... i think i turned into a luxary car lover lol
To be Honest I miss my 328i alot, that was a great car
also you guys think something like dyno mat would help keep the exhaust sound down i think that would help me out liking this car more
Just quiet down the exhaust, cause that @!#$ is loud.
yeah just buy a new exaust its really easy. You can get a nice quiet setup if you want.
well i love the sound of it out side i just hate the sound in the cabin, thats why i was thinking getting some dynomat or something to kill the sound and laying it all down in the back

ok , here is what im planning on doing, Im gonna try my best to refine the car more to where i feel it should be, meaning less exteror noise/ less panel buzzing,better suspention so its not such a rough ride...i know its not a bad ride but coming from a bmw it feels alittle rough even though its much better then my Z24 ever was lol. A new alarm would help it out too as the stock one is the biggest pain ever. Im gonna look into stuff along these lines.
i think its funny while most people are trying to make there car lighter and faster im trying the complete opposite almost lol.. i figuer ill get to the making the car faster later.. car is already insainly quick as it stands
anywho I just bought 100 sq ft of edead v1SE hopefully ill get most the car sound proofed with that stuff lol. the extra 50-60lbs and the fact that its gonna take me a good week to install it is worth it to me.
any other suggestions on making the car more refined would be great ...
You don't by a trans when your looking for a refined car. I am not bashing on the car, i would like one, its just my 2 cents. Good luck, the things you sugested will help IMO.

didn't u buy the loud mouth? the worst exhaust ever made for an fbody, let alone the loudest. Don't be cheap. go out and buy a borla with the adj plates. then u can adjust how loud u want it to be. Don't buy american if u want refined either

one of my buddys had loud mouth and it was insane loud in the cabin, he changed to borla (took all plates out and it was as loud outside, but in the cabin just perfect)
Borla = overpriced.
Get a better catback. That will quiet it down unless you step on it.

And yeah...the car was never meant to be refined.
You would absolutely HATE riding/driving mine if you want refined. But the 520+ RWHP might make up for some of that.

WHY would you buy a trans am if you dont want a loud car? You should sell it immediately to someone that knows how to use it.
"refined" what the @!#$ does this really mean anyway, an engine so quiet you dont even know if its on? it costs more money? You cant even peel out because theres no power to do so? A term car magazines invented to try to bash American cars? The 350 small block has been around for what almost 40 years, can it really be any more refined?
Personally I hate that and want to smack every writer across the forehead with my wang for saying such BS, and if I owned a V8 I want every single item inside the damn car to vibrate in sync with the idle because thats what its SUPPOSED to do.

But ya...you'd probably like a magnaflow exhaust over the SLP. SLP Loudmouth is one of the loudest on the market..lol.

wow you know what i just realized.....that alot of you are real tools and are those who have probably never even set foot in a bmw for more then maybe one ride...
whats wrong with some one not wanting to be driven nuts by massive droning when your on the high way ...city driving is nice but when you reach higher speeds that exhaust is just to much. i dont see anything wrong with putting in sound deadening materal it will aid me in 2 ways. much less sound from out side and make my music sound nicer...which i can barely hear unless i turn it up very loud... btw i didnt buy the SLP loudmouth exhaust it came on the car when i bought it.. i really like the sound of it just not on the highway i dont think its a crappy at all just to loud lol
btw not my fault all you guys have lack of taste for refinement...dont worry i used to be like all you guys so there is some hope that you will one day see the light ... but im gonna keep this car and consider it a personal project
