If you would post on
http://www.honda-tech.com you would probably have an answer in about 5 minutes.
I used to find a lot of info on there when I was going to swap a B16 into my EF hatch. I ended up selling it though.

heres the site
i cant really make sense of it... maybe you can....
took like 2 sec.
You'll need a computer for that year model of the engine. So if its a USDM motor then yes you can find it here. IE the Del sol has it in mid 90's or 99-00 for the Si. However if its a different year model then its going to be a JDM engine. Seeing how the Civic in the early 90's didn't have the b16 engine. So you'll have to order it off line more than likely. Hence why most the time you buy an engine it comes with a ECU.
Gonna need the harness too, unless you want to rewire the one you got. And if it's a VTEC, gonna need to wire the ECU for that, too. I'm not gonna ask why you did the swap without knowing what the engine came out of but you might be smart to pull the VIN off the block and take it to the local Honda dealer. Maybe they can tell you what car it came out of.
Or you can look on the block. b16a2 = USDM engine out of a 99-00 Civic Si. B16A1 means JDM or vice versa. Dont listen to me just look it up.
depends on what year your motor is.
88-91 u need the jdm b16 ecu. obd0 and it will fail smog due to too high of NOX levels.
92-95 b16 you can use the jdm SIR b16 ecu which is obd1 or u can use the 93-95 del sol b16 ecu. again the jdm will fail for high NOX levels.
96+ you can use the jdm ecu or the 99-00 civic si ecu.
you can also use according gsr or type r ecu's for those years.
high NOX levels are usually due to high compression motors. and since the older motors most likely have carbon build up. the compression is even slightly higher.
any local import shop in your area should be able to get you a jdm ecu for under 200 bucks.
wiring the car for vtec is easy and only requires 3 wires.
