So everytime you buy a new car, you should upgrade?
I like it, and I want one .. (but not 5 door).
I think the cavy looked a lot better.
$4500 for a blower??? Screw that!
5pointO
Since when was the SVT entry level? No, it's not a super hoo-rah Cobra Mustang but still...
SVT on a focus means nothing
Im out there Jerry and Im LOVIN EVERY MINUTE OF IT
HOW COULD YOU!!!!!!!!!!
***Looking for a BLUE 03+ STOCK cavi wing pm me if ya got one you wanna sell***
Nice pick up and welcome to the SVT family! You will have a lot of fun with that car. If you ever think of selling the svt rims off the focus PM. I maybe interested in them for my contour.

Nice looking car! I really like the SVT Focus' handling. I would definately consider it an upgrade over the Cavalier, aswell they do have more aftermarket parts available than the jbody.
No offense to anyone who owns a cavalier because I really enjoyed it while we had it, but therer is no comparison in the cavalier and the SVT Focus. It has tons of stuff you cant even get on a cavalier like steering wheel audio controls, heated power leather seats, traction control, heated outside mirrors, the audiophile 260w 6 disc indash with factory subwoofer, 6 spd tranny, 4 wheel disc brakes and probably other stuff I am forgetting. The build quality, especially of the interior, is much better. Also has a lot more room which is what she wanted. It is a big upgrade IMO. I has 170hp and the aftermarket is much larger, even gets a few mpg better than the cavalier. Ive never been in a regular focus though so they might be more equal to the cavalier. Thanks to everyone with compliments.

Could you elaborate on this?
cavalier looks better
cool SVT
Ford = F*cked Over Rebuilt Dodge
But anyways, if you are happy with your purchase, then by all means. I'd hate to have to turn a wrench under the hood of that car, especially an SVT. The asthetics are either love or hate.. I'd side with the latter, but again, personal preferrance. I really do not understand the design concept for the interior. Picasso inspired, perhaps.
Have fun, I know they are faster and handle better then Cavaliers, but that's why we modify our cars. With the money you spent on the SVT, I can buy another Cav just like the one I own now and modify it past the level of the SVT, but this is your wifes car, not yours. She'll be happy with it, way to earn the brownie points.

Aparently nothing means ...
2003 svt focus
vs
2003 ZX5 Hatchback
Nope ... no difference there
And I know that the svt focus does have a shorter gear ration (1 - 6).
Here is some more info if you wish for a more indepth idea of what the 03 svt focus has to offer
2003 svt focus specs

Well, my brother recently attained a 03 Focus ZX3 and I'd prefer it over my 03 Cav any day, basically because it rides better, came with a lot better options, and one huge deciding factor was the build quality, I don't see interior pieces falling off in his car, but in my car it's another story...
still not liking the focus. Even SVT.
If she likes it thats all that matters.
How much did it run you?
I'l hopefully never own a Ford or Chrysler product.
