Something like the BFG's, but not as expensive and something that doesn't wear out as fast. My uncle has been through two sets in under 60,000kms. That's pretty bad.
I was thinking something like...
Cooper Discoverer ATR
Toyo Open Country A/T
Anything else???

**there is only one true love in my life... and my girlfriend has learned to live with it**
Geolander AT/S or AT II
Ill take a picture of mine with over 35k on them(ill give you a hint, they look brand new)
I keep em rotated though...every oil change they get rebalanced and rotated...
Want a review...
Well they handle the mud amazingly well..
Snow? What snow.
Dry Pavement great
Wet pavement just as good but get them siped just to be sure
Ice...well ice is ice, but these have done it for me.
Honestly, I was happy with my tires before, great on the road and good on the rocks and in the mud. But this last snow fall is the first one Iv really been able to test them out in and ....amazing..
that seems like an amazingly short life span for those BFGs, is there anything wrong with the truck making the tires wear that fast?
^ x2
Ball joint replacement anybody???
Either that or your uncle got the cheaper non- KO version of the tire.
hell, even prior to the KO rating they still wore extremely well, even the MT's seem to wear nice for what they are
ehh alot of people that use them everyday say the wear quickly as well.....
I don't trust cooper tires personally. I had a set on my Cutlass and both front tires threw belts at 20k miles on 50k mile tires..
I'm a big fan of BF Goodrich, might be worth the extra dough. I don't know, I just wanted to weigh in on Cooper.
Tech Tone Blog
ever thought about bridgestone? Dueler a/t revo has nice reviews.

I had the non-KO's on my truck before I bough MT's (non-KO's come factory). I had over 30,000 miles on them and they looked normal. I could have at least gotten 50,000 out of them.
I swear by Coopers for my trucks.
Right now they're running Cooper Discoverer M+S, year round. Excellent tire, especially in load range-E 10 ply.
i have all terrains on my truck, if the damn thing would stay aligned thered be no problem. dont skimp on tires, theyre pretty important
women are like cars you have to test drive the new one before you trade in the old one
I had a set of bfg a/t's and they lasted 8 years and I bought em used.... I got close to 40k on them.
I have a set of bfg m/t's and they have close to 30k miles and still look almost new...
Doesn't Mud King and Pro Comp make some decent priced A/T tires? I've heard good things about Futura A/T and M/T's they're supposedly decent priced and you can get em at Pep Boys
Yes they both do, but Pro Comp has HORRIBLE wear ratings on AT's...
I love there x terrain tire though..its @!#$ sick...
Ok, I did a little shopping around yesterday, and the BEST price I could find on the BFG's was $1200 taxes inc, installed. Some places were $2000.
There is a place near Oshawa called Taunton Tire, they always have good prices on some of the off brands, and they could get me into...
Hercules Avalanche - $700 out there door ( these are a winter tire, so they will likely wear to fast in the summer )
Hercules Terra Trac A/T - $800 out the door ( I like these )
Durango Radial M/T - $800 out the door ( I really liked these best, but the lugs are huge and I don't know if I want to step up to a mud tire, for no reason other then look )
What do you guys think?

my dad got the BFG's for his silverado priced at like 760 out the door....try again? his were 265/17/17's
Gutty's in Canadia, sounds aboot right depending on the size he's looking for.
what size and what vehicle is it going on?
okie give us a size so we can narrow it down. i would suggest somethining from bridgestone or firestone. they offer a 30 day test drive. don't like them bring them back. Dueler a/t revo
M/t tire
Damn.
I got my 31" Kumho Venture M/T's for $6xx mounted at Sears auto.
got the 31s on my rango mounted for $450 2.5 yrs ago, 33's on the burb were on it when I bought it
I knew I forgot something, it is for a 2002 Sierra SLT z71

As was said above, Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo. Warning: you WILL find a cheaper tire. Warning: you WILL find someone who will say "my XXX tire is better in mud". However, you will NOT find a tire that will be an 8.5 out of 10 in mud, yet be silent as death on the highway, plus get 50,000 miles of good wear, with proper care. And, as was said above, BFS offers a 30-day "Test Drive" guarantee, where they WILL take the tires back within 30 days for whatever reason if you don't like them.
Just incase anybody was wondering...lol...
My BFG A/T's were just as loud as my M/T's are on the HWY.
i've run general grabber at2's and they did great in mud and snow and were fairly quiet for day to day driving. they are inexpensive too. tire rack carries them
also have used regul trailblazers (basically a knock off of the bfg a/t's) and they wore pretty well too.

Do you drive daily with these?
They are not quiet...not loud by any means but there the same as most AT tires...Good AT tires anyways...
I can reccomend a ton of AT tires...but they have trade offs..
Best all around...
Geolander or the Dueler...
