I know there'll probably be some arguments (and some bashing) but I thought I'd post this anyway to get some comments...as I didn't see this posted anywhere else on the site.

I do think it's a little misleading when talking about the Cobalt SS as they have a picture of the SS Supercharged listed which we all know is a little bit faster than the v6 Mustang instead of a N/A SS model that Car and Driver is referring to.
Comments? Thoughts?.
The Mustang was $5 off from being 20K. Honestly I think they should just round to the nearest thousand instead of doing the whole "Under XX thousand dollars" and only be by a small amount.

Car and Driver sucks. Bunch of babies. "Oh, there's too much engine noise. We can't have that..."
i like engine noise, what's the fun with a luxery car w/ the windows up and you can have your volume on 1 and sitll here it perfect? BORINGGGGGGGGG
i can see most of the cars on that list, surprised the cobalt is that much quicker than a few of them though.
V6 Mustang looks cheap. The V8 isn't any better.
whoops, forgot to say that not all V6 stangs look cheap:

To each his own. Personally, I just don't see any curb appeal in them.
I just love that Legend Lime color and I'm not really a fan of green on any car.

Um, what?
let me guess this magazine is NOT based in Southern California i'm taking it. A tC is like an As*hole in Cali...everyone has one.

Same for Tampa!
Hurts my shot at a decent resale too! Bastards!
My friend dubbed the tC's as "Me2"'s... because everytime someone see's you have one, they claim "Me too!"
Heh, every time I say I have a "Scion tC", the immediate response is "Is that one of those box things?"

lol... I get that when the other person doesn't have a tC
i would probably go for the mazda 3 out of that list, the Tc would be a very close second and the civic would be in third
i dont get it... why can my almost stock cavy beat a v-6 mustang in a race but not a cobalt ss?

because you either A) are not racing a new v6 mustang or B) the new v6 mustang is not racing you
no way in hell does an auto 2.2 come close to any new (and 95% of old) mustangs
i have a 2.4 with light mods but thanks anyway
edit: made sure it said LIGHT mods so no arguements started over that

my statement still stands, especially if its an auto (with the new ones at least)
you know what i was just thinking why in gods name is the 07 mini cooper (non S) not on that list... it would kill any car on there in the skid pad / autocross and can still run a 16 second flat 1/4 mile time with the new engine
its obviously the quarter mile they are talking about
i do agree the mini would rape in everything else tho, its pretty sweet
Well of that list, I have driven the TC, Mazda3, Civic, and Mustang (V8 tho)...the Mazda3 was the best ride of them all.
The TC lacked excitement, the Mustang wasnt my cup of tea, and the Civic was a close first but the dash set up was a bit too odd for me. But I absolutely loved the Mazda3 Grand Touring that I test drove.
