I have a 4 bolt main SMC 350 block that i had gotten refurbished by a machine shop that i no longer need as i no longer own the car it was going to go into. it has been cleaned, Honned, and painted. it also has new freeze out plugs.
opps....ment to say SBC....not SMC lol
lol, i was thinking anyware between 3 and 5....so 4 works lol
thanks
Do you have the pistons for it? Is it a short block or nothing else but the block? If its been machines you really want the pistons at the same time.
Year will also help. Is it a 2 bolt or 4 bolt main? You'd be suprised how cheap you can pick up a SBC short block.
He said 4bolt bare block.

you can pick up 350 bare blocks all day long for $100.... you can buy a good running 350 for under $500.
Really only 400 and 327 blocks are worth anything in the sbc department
Yea reading owns me. Sorry =/ LOL I knew he said bare block but I just wanted to clarify it had no pistons. No way I would pay anything over 100 for that. Could probably pick it up for 75 bucks or so. Sorry
75 bucks?
for a basically new 4 bolt main 350?
Sadly, yes. And you really wouldn't be paying for the block, you'd be paying for the machine work. I picked up a clean 4 bolt block for my Fiero for $25 way back when. You have to remember, people want 4 bolts for muscle cars nowadays, but most of the older ('87 and back) trucks came with 4 bolts, meaning they really are a dime a dozen.

A friend of mine just bought a complete, running 350 with 75,000 miles on it for $75
I love America.
Everything, including dime a dozen SBCs, are over priced up here in Canada.
Hmmmm.....

Its not hard. Hell you can find LT1's reasonably cheap now. Everyone wants an LSx. Even LS1's are getting cheaper. Everyone wants LS2's. Just like the B16 honda swaps. They were expensive as hell. Now everyone is in the K series craze and they are cheap.
