I'd really like to think this is a photoshop because of the POLICE stripe.
^ Check the link, a couple more pics showing it's legit.
Where does the prisoner sit?
Read the comments there, they explain why they would have this type of "cruiser"
Quote:
The vast majority of these cars are temporarily donated by the automakers to the communities.
About two years back, I saw a batch of new Jeep Wranglers and Libertys adorned with community police logos three weeks before the cruise.
Sure enough, on the day (OK, more like week) of, there they were, out flashing strobes and helping ticket those who chirped any amount of rubber.
It seems to be the case this year, too. In addition to your XLR-V find, I've also seen at least three H2 SUT's running around with police insignia

..................Which car will hit 400 whp first???..................
also alot of time the cars are "donated" by criminals. They stop someone with drugs or something and the car gets impounded and not claimed. The car then becomes police property. The Sheriff station here has a 98 Cobra Mustang they got that way.

I ain't callin u a gold digga,but you ain't messin wit a broke cracka
Just noticed it has a tinted plate cover! Illegal!
I didn't know they came supercharged? if you look at the middle picture is states that its supercharged I just thought they came with the ls2 motors.
**changes are here**
imagine how pissed the would be once some douche bag ran it off the road , and it got totaled , LOL
Yeah that was on the local news here in Detroit. GM donated a ton of cars to assist with the Woodward Dream cruise. That's actually a GM owned police car...that's why it has no city name on it anywhere but the tiny "bloomfieldhills.com" sticker on the bumper. That will be removed after the cruise. This XLR-V and alot more are actually movie cars that GM donates for hollywood.
This is obviously some uneducated Detroit autoworker turd that is pissed because he lost his job and lost everything and can only get a job at Wendy's now. And since he made the choice to be nothing better than an excessively overpaid laborer and never got an education now he's going to cry about cops with expensive cars on some blog and how unfair it is because he's now flipping burgers.
He should get back to work before they foreclose on his house too.

Pretty sure that's not the case. More than likely it's a user submitted photos that, with lack of any other information, the author/submitter made an assumption.
Seeing how there are a fair share of Vette/Lambo/Porsche cop cars in other countries as well as are, and the fact that we also have our fair share of misappropriation of funds
in the government, it isn't that far fetched. But you can go ahead and playa hate if you like.

I've seen police corvettes, seized from drug dealers, they don't sell it, they just put some lights on it and use a criminals car to catch more criminals.
As said before, most of these cars are donated or seized. No city counsel who wanted to stay in office would approve a budget for something like that. On a side note though, italian police (and some German autobahn patrols) use Lamborgini's, British and German police use high end BMW's.

Buy stuff from CarCustoms Ebay! Won't be disappointed!
Ahh this must be the reason why I've seen in the past BMW & Corvette Highway Patrol cars. I don't see them often but they are on the roads.

I live in Detroit and I just said this car and many others were featured on the news last night as promotional vehicles donated by GM for the weekends cruise. not a misappropriation of funds in the government.

British Highway patrols use BMW's occasionally, but in-city they use smaller cars by necessity.
Italian Carabinieri and Polizia have one Lamborghini (don't forget the h in there... don't know why though), and the rest are usually Alfa Romeo's.
German Autobahnpolizei use Mercedes & BMW 5/7 series sedans for regular duties, and I think they have Porsche 911's (968/987s?) for pursuits (and ticketing wayward Ferraris

on the Autobahn sections that have speed limits).
I do too... Ferraris are as cheesy as stuffing your underwear.. IMCNHO.

What I was saying that it's not exactly unheard of, or illogical to think that they bought a XLR if you didn't see it on the news, or don't live in Detroit.

Bah. Ferrari's are better.
However, I like the Porsches.

Ferraris are better, in the Garage... I haven't seen many out rocking snow tires

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING says Balla louder than pinning the speedometer on the highway with big fluffy flakes floating down, speeding by and impaling themselves on the windshield of a $150,000 land rocket.
Porsche's are a 24/7 sports car. That's what I'd look for in buying a sports car, as opposed to one that I'd be reticent to mash the tires. However, if you're talking about a strict track-whore, Ferraris do a passable job. I don't buy a car to fetch women, it's about what >> I << want.
Sure, and what I want is a Ferrari. Weekend toy is a Weekend Toy. Personally, when I become that filthy rich my daily driver will be a big comfy land yacht type deal. Something I can layout in, stretch the legs and leave the driving up to Jeeves.

I dunno... I'd rather drive. There's still 5 more days in the week.
True That!
If i had to pick between a Porsche or a Ferrari...I probably couldn't...I lurve them both too much!

I don't drive in Rush Hour...
Having a car like a Porsche or Ferrari: you'll MAKE time to do the trip... and move away from the city to prolong the drive.
