my grandmother has a numbers matching 1965 impala ss and it is most likely one of a kinda. it is a 3 on the tree with a 283, bucket seats, center console, no a/c, no power steering, and no power brakes. its 99.9% original the only things that have been replaced is the paint and the flat panel in the rear window it even has the original tires and washer fluid in the sealed bottle and the clock and stereo work. the car isn't in show quality but is very close the paint has a few runs and rough spots and the interior has a few rips in the seams of the seats and the door panel carpet is loose and the engine smokes horribly and has a extremely loud rod knock (its louder than my neighbors harley). i was wondering if there is a website that you can do a vin search and find the factory info about it and also a website that i can do a derailed value estimate or if any one here knows what a good price would be that would be great. also where could i get a rebuild kit for the tranny engine and rear end. thanks for the help

The trim tag on the firewall will tell you alot and so will the protecto plate(this should be in the owners manual)
Unless the body is absolutley mint- no rust or rust repair ever and is straight it isn't really worth much considering it has a blown up 283 and it's a 3 on the tree. It might be desirable if it has really low miles. It would be a good car to swap a bbc and 4 speed in it and it would be worth alot more.
I'd say $2500- it's hard to tell without pics
