-Richmond ROD 6-speed(will get sometime)
-Posi 12-bolt(built w/eaton posi unit and richmond 3.73 gears)

GM should supply him with a new truck. Just because he is getting them publicity that Chevy has the longest lasting truck on the road.
I bet they will. I read it on yahoo and they stated that GM or shell petrol wanted to purchase it off him. I remember VW giving a guy who hit 1mill a new jetta on the david letterman show a long while back. He kept driving around the block until he hit 1mill in his cabroiet
gives me goose bumps... they aren't conciterd the logest lasting trucks on the road for nothing. but yeah I beileve that chevy will supply him with a brand new truck.
**changes are here**
those trucks were built like a rock , i put a motor in a stripped truck a friend bought , motor had around 100k on it when he bought it , probably has close to 500k now , couple valve cover gaskets and oil cooler lines , along with regular maintenance
and he isnt easy on vehicles
Haha, that's crazy. I know that guy. He would get the oil changed many time in my hometown at one of the local oil/lube places. I remember it was a few years ago that our local paper did a story on him when it was around 800,000 miles. It's crazy how good the truck looks too. If I remember correctly, GM did want to buy it off of them so they could disassemble it study the wear on the engine parts. I also heard that they were going to offer him a new truck as well. I haven't seen the guy in a while, but I'll have to see if I can find out.

GM used to have a Million Mile club: my grand-dad passed on an early 70's Buick Roadmaster Stationwagon. That thing did not want to die... the front end rusted out and it wasn't possible to replace what needed to be (don't ask, I barely remember it).
The car was almost at 1.5 million miles.

Why? GM never supplied that guy with the million mile saab with a new saab, atleast not that I know of. Why should he get a new truck?

they stand to make a lot more business off of the publicity from the truck than they would a saab. stuff like this could be used in an ad campaign. saab owners probably dont care about getting a million miles out of their cars....
cool to hear. i hope he gets a new truck too.

coming back in 2008...

I work on Wall Street, but didn't force you to take out a loan you couldn't afford.
My mom has a 91 Chevy Blazer tahoe with 4.3 V6. It just went over 300k on the factory motor. Only had routine stuff (at least what I consider routine if you keep a car for a long time), 2 water pumps, brakes, AC, Alternator, shocks, tires etc... Great truck. Plan to keep it in the family.
