Perhaps because it will be the most sold model of the line?
yup its nothing new though.. the Camaro and Trans Am were for the most part always quicker then the mustangs.. why change that
im sure most of the Caramo fans would be happy with the V6's Power. i still think that since price of gas is so high now that they should have made a 2.0 turboed ecotec engine as an option as well

I'm sure with the right driver should be a stock GT Mustang as well.
I would rock a six, and I'm suprised no mentioned the 4 different power levels of the V8 two versions of each the L99, and LS3.

all i know is that V6 better be atleast a low 13 second car to be only getting 26mpg on the highway.. even my LS1 trans am pulled slightly better gas mileage on the highway then that
I am sure the camaro isnt a light car and puts a little more strain on the V6. If they had forced induction from factory, the car would probably see better MPG.
With a 100 more horsepower than a stock S197 Mustang v6 and getting the same gas mileage (I presume...as the manual v6 Mustang gets 26 - 28mpg highway according to the EPA), I am very impressed with the Camaro's numbers thus far.
I don't see it as a disappointment at all. Then again, I never owned a LSx equipped car to know any better.
