My friends dad owns a salvage yard. He gets paid $100 to take the cars. Then hes taking the cats off the exhaust, radios etc and sending them to scrap. Most cars get him around $200 in scrap. So hes benefiting pretty well.

I'm sure the dealer recognizes the rarity of that truck. Are they legally required to disable the engine and scrap the car? Too bad there isn't a way they could put it back on the lot in the used cars and resell it for a profit. Anyone who loves cars would not want to see that destroyed.

Guys are working on getting the syclone saved, but if the paperwork has already been mailed, it is over. There was a red typhoon traded at another dealer with the same fate.
Dealers don't know what those trucks are, just another car sale to them. I have called GMC myself and had the people on the phone tell me they never made my truck.

The thought of the Syclone falling victim is horrible, but the only difference here is we're just aware of it. Either way the owner did not care nor know what they own, so it's just the same.
Wish I had a permanent garage, a mint Sy will be the first thing I buy when such is secured.
