I went down to the dealership Saturday to pick it up. MSRP was 15,920, after opinions it came to 17,630 that's including the destination charges as well. After a 1,000 rebate and 2,000 dollar down payment from my Cavy trade in, it came to just under 15,000. The payments are around 282 a month, and the insurance is 960/six months, I've also got five accidents.. lol, only one was my fault though. I got it tinted today and I ordered the single cat-back from RKsport, so that should be here within five days. I'm going to save for some lowering springs and withever shocks and struts Koni is going to come out with, I'm going to go with the Racing Hart C5's (black)... . Overall though I'm very impressed with the car, it is in ever way an improvement over the Cavalier, I think Chevy did a good job. The ride is smooth, the shifting is smooth, and the car itself has so much potential, apperance and formance wise. I think the stereo system is pretty darn good for being factory, I was surprised. I can't wait to start customizing this thing.
nice man...that car looks good in black
i drove one, it did ride very nice, and yea the stereo is reallyyyy nice overall a good car for the price
Looks SOOOOO Much better than the 4 dr.
Sweet car, are you a member of any Cobalt Forums?? Come over to CobaltSS.net, all Cobalts are more than welcome
Nice color choice, and good decision on getting the 5-speed. Makes the car so much more fun.
You're right that its a much better car in every way than the old J-body, plus you won't have to worry about the car starting to fall apart after driving off the showroom floor

The Cobalts redline at 6500rpm? Wow great improvement over the 3rd gen Cavys. How does the Pioneer stereo sound?

When you look at the instrumental panel, under the tach there's a digital bar. The bar shows the outside temperature, odometer, fuel range, you can check your gas mileage, average speed, oil life, and the temperature of the engine coolant, as well as some personal settings. It is pretty sweet, especially since it's digital.

The system sounds pretty good for factory. I had a 12" sub in my cavalier before this, and of course it's not as good as the 12" sub, but it definitely hits nice. If you where going from a stock system to this one, you'd be pleasently surprised, trust me. Altough I do plan to add a 12" sub to the factory 10".....
The tweeters, are a nice touch, they serve their purpose very well. I believe the speakers in the back are two 6X9's, and the two in the front are two 6X5's...As I said though, overall I'm very impressed, this is a great car for the money. And thank you all for the comments....there will be more to come...
Yeah, but you know he's telling the truth.. My Cav overheated some today. lol

ha...I'm going turbo, I couldn't live with myself if when I finally get a manual I don't get a turbo so I can hear the beautiful sound of a blow of valve.....PSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS...
It's going to be awhile though, I want to lower it and get my rims before I boost it. I want to make it look fast before I make it fast..

Well it still has a temp gauge, its just not an analog one. Its built right into the Driver Information Center (DIC), so you can read the exact tempurature of the engine at any time with just the push of a button.
If the car does start to overheat and the temp goes above normal range, I'm sure the light will come on and the DIC will display the temp of the engine and a message saying it needs to be serviced.
Personally I think its really nice just having the 3 analog gauges and having everything else integrated into the DIC. It gives the instrument cluster a much cleaner look.

so is that the whole reason for not getting a s/c one? So u can turbo later? Im not a big fan of these cars, personally i think they are ugly. But it is a nice car. I like the interior a lot.

lol i dunno about you but my redline on my sc Z24 is 6500rpm's lol
anyways very nice car, though for only 3 more grand i would have gone with the s/c even if you did wanna go turbo you would still be in a better possition with the s/c as the computer for it can already read boost yours well .....cant
o well have fun with your new car

No, boost isn't the only reason why I didn't so with the SS. I needed a car kind of quick, so I really couldn't wait for the SS to get down here to Fl, and I wouldn't of been able to handle the payments both car and insurance payments for a boosted car right now.
I'm going for looks first anyways, boost isn't an absolute, like I said before, it's going to be awhile before I can even think about a turbo, I'm talking at least a year and a half, and alot can change from now again then.
