TPS vs rpm tuning and driving style (LD9)
Saturday, July 31, 2010 3:13 PM
when im normally driving my car i shift about 2500 to 3200ish rpm some 4k rpm but if want power i just go WOT when and if my dad drives it he like to go about 75% to 80% throttle and rev it out vs just WOT
okay so i have a tuning n00b question.........will i have to tune(Hp-Tuners) for that as well? since my car is a 1999 and im not doing the re-flash and i don't know if my car will build boost at 75% throttle and i plan to run a A/F ratio of 11.1:1 - 11.5:1 when in boost

oh and the turbo info if it helps
T3/T4
compressor trim: 50
exhaust AR: 63
and running 12psi... 24/7
on a log manifold
an externally wastegated
with 650cc high imp.. injectors

Yes you will need to tune the car for the driving you do. You will build boost at 75% TPS.

Thanks for the help. As usual.

i would say no.

power enrichment has a TPS threshold and a delay rpm.

the TPS threshold decreases as RPM increases... so even if your dad only has the throttle at 80% (which is stupid btw), i'm pretty sure the PCM is already into power enrichment because the threshold is lower than 80%.. i think its like 65% or 70%... possibly even lower at higher rpm.
