Pre 2000 2200 LD9 Reflash
Monday, March 31, 2014 2:29 PM
So I have searched and searched for an answer on this one but cannot seem to find a definite answer. I know the re-flash cannot be used on the pre 2000 2200's.
I have a 1999 2200 automatic that is getting boosted this summer. My question is can i just swap over a 2000+ pcm and then run the re-flash or is there more to
this like wiring ect.?
Thanks all!

Truly your current ECU could be flashed with the reflash, but you will loose some gauge functions.

You would need to wire in a BCM to keep the gauge functions.

Right I want to know if I could maybe swap out the entire harness, cluster, ect. with a 2000+ and and run the reflash.

Since when is the 2200 an LD9? Or did I miss something?

You can flash LD9 tunes onto a LN2 computer...or vise versa.

The 99 LN2 computer will accept, and run the 00-02 LD9 M45 Reflash, but most of the gauges will not function. You can repin the harness to get the tach running, but your'll need a to either rewire the car to a 00-02 LD9 or LN2 engine and body harness or "adapt" your harness to run a BCM and repin other things.

I would swap to a 00-02 LN2 engine harness, body harness, BCM, and gauges cluster to make your life a lot easier....then flash that setup with the M45 ld9 reflash.

People have been running the LD9 reflash on LN2 for sometime.

You can also run said reflash on a Ecotec motor using either a LD9 or LN2 ECU. You can even run a Ecotec on a LN2 ECU with LN2 file.

Ah. I was reading it as if it was being called a 2200 LD9.
