Because if you do that in a saturn, you lose the rev and speed limiters. If noone has tried it, i plan on trying it.
And...is the neutral safety switch for the autos run outta the same pins as the clutch disengagement switch on the manuals?

it wont run....well for very long. We've had it happen once. It will run for awhile, then set some trans codes, and then shut off.

Actually, Yes My buddy did that with his 93 Civic about a couple years ago. I know I know different car. But just so you know the car didnt run right. Eventually i dont know if it was because the ecu or not. But the motor took a crap on him 4 weeks after the manual trans swap. The car pretty much felt like it was limping and sputtering with the incorrect ecu.

On Hondas it is totally different. The computers have different tunes for the different tranny's.

True, but in all reality. I dont think it would be too much different from our cars. Think about it this way. The ECU for an auto tranny might be looking at a certain RPM to shift, since the manual trans isnt connect like the auto with the harness it is possible it could still cause some damage. I dont know this for a fact though because I havent tried it with a j-car. Just basing what I have seen happen before first hand with an auto to manual swap using the auto ECU with a 5 speed.
