running injector resistors on megasquirt
Saturday, June 03, 2006 8:56 AM
so Ive finnally got my megasquirt running oem. but now I want to go after the daunting task of getting it to pass emssionns. (yes I belvie I can get it done)

the point is that I need to know the resitance to put between the injectors in order to simulate them being there.

thanks

take an ohm meter to yours, just go across the pins.

Or just plug some stock injectors in the sock harness for a while It's not like they would have to do anything other than open and close in free air...

then what?

do I just match the resitance I see on the meter?

yes you have to match the resistance an then the other side of the resistor
needs to be hooked up to a switched 12v + ask any other ???
i will try to help i have some issues with mine but i will do what i can

why does it have to be switched?

i would just think wire a resistor between the pins on the inj harness. i don't have emissions testing so i never worried about it, i just left my check engine light one

The one thing to keep in mind is that the lower the resistance the more power your going to be dispating therefor the bigger (more wattage) the resistors are going to need to be to keep from burning them out. I'm currently using 100 ohm 1/4 watt resistors and they seem to be keeping my ecy happy for the past 9 months.

btw nice car.

what did you do for your coolant sensor?

I put a T in the heater core supply hose, and put the sensor in the tee. Easy to get to and works like a charm from there.
