Well you could paint the IDI cover, put some wire-loom over the wires and/or hoses. Clean the engine bay very good with simple green or some other engine degreaser. You can also spray some engine dressing over the engine to make it since like new. You could always paint the IDI cover the color of your car. All color (colour) choice is up to you.
Cleaning always helps.

well i would clean it all up and then take the old intake bracket off then paint ur 2.4l cover and polish the ribs then and polish the valve cover and the fuel rail. and maybe paint a few thing

You could add a carbon fiber radiator bottle cover and a fuse box cover . RK Sport also sells a carbon fiber cover to replace the radiator cover that is now black. Good luck on whatever you decide.

I would suggest cleaning it really well first, just doing that will make a huge difference .

I think silver would go good with the color of your car. I am using silver as my accent color in my engine compartment. So far I have added a Flex-Braid hose kit with silver endings (on the radiator hoses, etc.), some silver silicone hoses and a billet battery cover (unfortunately I don't have any new pictures yet ). Eventually I will be adding billet strut tower caps, billet engine caps, a chrome strut tower bar and an aftermarket intake (which you already have obviously ).

I just figured I would share my plans with you and maybe you would get some ideas. Good luck .

i'd prefer not to replace any of the caps as they are JDM and have Japanesse writing on them, but i like the idea of silver.

Anyone have any pics of what they have done??

holy hell i must say i have never seen a toyota cav engine bay before...

its odd seeing the the brake fluid reservoir/booster/master cylinder and the AC lines/canister being on the other side. this would make for one HELL of a time of a header or turbo install. has to be because of the right hand drive im sure... LOL even the windshield wipers are different and sway the completely opposite way ours do.

and just what intake kit is that?

lets see here, engine bay dress up:

do something with the battery, the connections on it dont look like ours (stock) so if thats something you changed yourself then i think going back to a stock style side post battery would be better. then make a little aluminum cover to go over it, polish it or make one out of steel and have it chromed.

ditch the stock intake system bracket/holder thats bolted on the intake cam tower (right in front of the IDI cover) and replace the studded bolts with bolts that just have a flat head like the rest of the intake cam tower bolts off to the left of the bracket.

take fuel rail off and polish it, tuck CPS wire behind it when you put it back on.

either go down to a GM dealership and buy a brand new radiator coolant reservoir (like $20 USD) or clean the hell out of yours.

TTR upper mount.

cheap ebay polished aluminum strut tower brace.

the firewall and strut towers look very clean, you just need to work on the timing chain housing/intake cam tower area as well as underneath the radiator coolant res.

so get to work!

I would do the Chevy cavalier swap and swap over everything to left hand drive

Which will put the master and brake booster where they should be!

LMAO. There seems to be a lot of this going on lately. I'm glad people are searching, but it's kind of funny that people dig up old threads where someone is asking for input, and then respond to it. Kinda like Joey Baggs' post about possible headlight swaps. People started giving him opinions like 2 weeks ago when his swap has been done for over a year now.
