since ive have my car I could not get the day time running light to shut off whe I release the handbrake any tips any one?
They will only shut off if the car is not in motion and the ebrake handle is pulled. I messed around a little and found on my 00 Cavalier that if you click the high beams on and off really quick, it will cause the computer to think the bulb is out or the relay is not working. The DRLs will go out and the SERVICE ENGINE SOON light will come on. This will be reset when you turn the car off, so its a one time thing every time you start your car.

theres ways around it, search
Google search how to disconect DRL for your car its there it takes all of 5 min. to do
and it works like a charm.
The only reason I'm saying to look is I was tol the same thing. But if you try and cant
find it I'll tell you.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
i had someone with a tech-2 disable my DRL's on the car's computer... havn't had any problems with it.
Whats so wrong with having the DRL's on...
if you were ever to get into an accident with the DRL mod, would that be an issue with the insurance company?

nope, drl's are not required at all, by any state in the US
and i don't like drl's becasue i don't, i think it looks stupid to be driving around in the daytime with your lights on. and there is no proof that drl's prevent accidents, but there is proof that they caused a few. i know i find them distracting at times

We have no idea what year your car is or anything about it. But i have a 2000 cavalier and what you do is look under the dash and there is a box labeled BCM, Look for the dark blue wire. Clip it but leave enough wire to attach a new wire to it. Attach a new wire to it to the dark blue piece coming out of the bcm. Just ground that wire and it will shut the drl's off and no lights will come on in the dash. The best place to ground the wire is the bolt that attaches to your steerling column. Any ?'s hit me up on messenger.
what accidents have been caused by DRLs? unless it's stupid people driving with em on at night thinking their lights are on... I can't image them causing an accident

If I remember right from when I did it with my tech 2 you have to reprogram the bcm to mexico standards. Ive had it done for 6 months and they havent turned back on

IMO, i think they're good for those idiots who dont have their lights on in the rain or fog..
yeah, theyre good for that........however those same idiots are the ones who don't turn them on at night, and get rear ended becase their taillights arent on.
check
this site out for drl information on how drl's don't do jack and may cause accidents by shortening headlight life and wastes your money

Thats what i said, just a shorter version. I think cavie freak made one too that is a little better to understand. but he is gone right now so someone else will have to find it. It was a better one imo.
I was not able to locate the sticker with BCM on it all i saw was a sticker with numbers and one that read diode? where is it at?
