im getting ready to replace my entire ignition system (i guess thats what you could call it), the spark plugs, boots, boot springs, 2 coils, the coil cover and the IDI cover.
my friend gave me the idea of polishing the idi cover before i put it on, and i noticed in a few pics on here that some of you have a polished cover. i was just wondering where or how you did it, or if you bought it like that.
if you bought it like that: is it possible to polish it yourself?
thanks!

Rksport sells one. Also you could have a company chrome plate it.

I polished and painted my own. I just spray painted it then used an electric sander to shine her up. Granted it didn't look as good as anything these guys above me offer, but it was a nice improvement over stock.
Here's an old pic of mine:

If you're only doing the raised areas, and painting the rest, it's easy to do it yourself and get a mirror finish.
Just sand it smooth with some 400 grit or something. Once it's smooth, go to an 800, then 1000 grit, and then a metal polish.
