Window Tint....legalitys

Does anyone know if the cops in Victoria BC will let you away with side window tint?

I have a 4 door and I don't like the look of just the back windows tinted.
TIA

You'd be much better off asking this in the regional forum.

Im from the states and I know most cops don't let you get away with anything illegal, especially when you drive a sport car / sport compact. At least in my area, but I guess if you don't attract attention to yourself it would be fine. Though I found the Canadian laws and it does say that BC can not have tints on the front side windows. So I guess its up to the cop if he'll pull you over or not.

Not entirely sure how accurate this is, but found it here

British Columbia
7.5 cm Windshield / NO Front Side/ ANY Rear Side/ ANY Rear/ Unknown effective year

Enforcement Note : Tint law applies to non-residents.

I do agree with either posting this up in the regional forum [clicky] or with BC J-bodies [clicky]

It is illegal in most of North America to have anything darker than factory tint on any driver/front passenger door glass. Rear of the front doors is pretty much open, but it varies per State/Province as to how dark. Some places it's at like 35% some places it's limo. But if you don't draw attention to yourself, and don't do anything else to give them a reason to stop you, most officers have better and more important things to worry about than window tint. I'm a reserve officer in Iowa. I can tell you first hand we are more concerned with drunk drivers and street racers than we are about window tint.

I can honestly tell you that the boys in blue in victoria seem a little more anxious to grab guys with modded cars than i've seen elsewhere.

I live in Kelowna BC, and it's decent here, but i find the closer to the coast you get the more you get harassed.

I was in Victoria two weeks ago for three days, and I got stopped SEVERAL times.

Keep the tint off the side windows. The rule of thumb in BC is nothing ahead of the drivers shoulder. Lucky guys in Ontario can tint Anything as far as i know.....
