headlight issues... weird
Thursday, December 29, 2005 1:11 AM
Here is the problem. I drove to my friends house and did use the brights on my car. Worked fine. When it was time to leave I started the car and the brights were still on and then the headlights died. When I turned the brights off the headlights worked fine, just no brights. When I turn on the brights the lights go dead. But the turn signal lights work, tail lights work, everything except the headlight bulbs. WTF?

Yes, its one bulb. BUT with two filiments inside so if one of the filiments goes then so
does the light for the high or low which ever is burned out.

Checking the lights is FREE. Pull them out and look at BOTH filiments to make sure one didn't burn out. If they are both fine then start looking for things that will cost you money to try.

Burned out part of the filament on one of the bulbs. Gonna have to replace 'em. Oh well.

i had an issue were i ordered some cheap bulbs off ebay and they drew more current than the stock wiring could handle. it fried my switch and the only thing that worked was the drl's. no low beams or highs. i would make sure that the bulbs are not stressing the switch too much or the other wiring.
