I am looking for pictures of the MMS doors installed without the fender on yet, not to sure what way the shock goes on.
thats what ive been tryin to find out some people are sayin it doesnt matter some say it does?? beats me ive had them on with the silver side up and the black part on the bottom.
Right now when my door opens and closes the shock pushes it up fast, and its real hard to close the door. What do I need to adjust to fix this. Also my front door hits the back door.
After you use the door a couple weeks (maybe less depending on how much ur using the door) it will get easier to open and close and it won't shoot up right away. When i first had my doors like thi i had to open and close it with bothe hand and now i only use one.
Maybe your stronger lol.
Its real hard to close the door from inside right now, but maybe when I add more weight to them it will be easier

LOL! Well since your a boy and i'm a girl my guess is that your stronger than me. but give it time. Also if you have the 750lb shocks those were way too much for me i had to get the 700lb shocks. But either way it should get easier.
right now I can't get my doors shut, it doesnt line up right.
then you need to adjust it using the adjusting knobs
What ones are the adjusting knobs?
common guys, details and pictures for the future kit owners...
i have had the hinges since the 1st gp(being joe's on the 3rd one now) and i have had no problems with the hinges. i have the black part closest to the door.
-reverse how phranny19 has it pictured.
the door will shoot up for awhile untill you get some wear into it then it wont shoot up as fast. the driver side is used more so it will be longer for the passenger side to do the same thing. it took mine a couple of months before it started to ease up on shooting up in the air.
the fun is in aligning it up! i had to grind a bit of the metal on the curved part where the 2 curved pieces met so the hinge would close more. not a whole lot but a bit.
yea i actually have mine mounted like phranny as well and havent really had any troubles with them. ALtho i do gotta align them right since iw as in a hurry to get them on when i first put them on.
you can kida tell in this pic the shiny part closest to the fender and the black part closest to the door. about the only pic i have of it to view the strut.
and the question remains hah does it really matter
not trying to thread jack but I was wondering if that kit u guys have is direct bolt on or drilling holes a requirement?

The MMS kit is a direct bolt on.

be nice if there was a way to see which way the ones that had issues installed them. . it may not matter but a certain way may cut the chances down depending on install.
after all, considering how many kits were sold and the number of ones that had problems, i dont think the odds are to bad myself.
Thank you everyone I have the doors installed, the only problem is the wires stick out sometimes when I close the door.
lol yea sometimes i noticed they do. But as for the shocks mounted a certain way i guess it prob wont matter like i said i had mine mounted with the silver side up on the door part and havent had problems yet but i was wondering because show season will be commin up soon and i dont want them to fail at a show
