Well in the pass. door rocker area I have some nice bubbling going on, and I've recently discovered the same thing around the antenna base where it looks as if moisture may have gotten trapped. All on a 2001, gotta love GM and MI winters. I mainly blame GM though.
-rust repair on pass. rocker, sandblast, etch & prime, paint
-rust repair under antenna, sandblast, shave antenna
-repaint both 1/4 panels, door back
-repaint sideskirts
All came out to $1089.60, and he rounded it down to $1000 for me. Sound decent?
my dad usually charges $200 per pannel and your also getting sandblased to clear out the rust so yea sounds about right
When it comes to body work, you get what you pay for.....
Sounds about right to me but dont ever be too afraid to pay alittle more even if it isnt custom..

When it comes to anything you get what you pay for, I won't disagree. This is one the smaller time guys around town, but he doesn't overcharge and look at you for the money only. He's one of the few whom have taken an interest in doing the job, and my car...which is what I was looking for.
There's another bodyshop I've also been visiting, muscle car guys, but he's cool and enjoys my car. Talk of me helping out and doing a little more than the above work has been gone over there, though I don't know if I want that kinda of commitment right now. I almost would rather pay someone and have it done without any obligations.
Debateable at the moment.
Thanks for the opinions thus far

.
dose your car have over 100,000 on it? cuz if it dosent its under warrenty from gm for rust through protection. i used to work at a chevy dealer and we did alot of warrenty repairs for rust. check it out before you pay for it.
no prob Joe. as long as you are happy with it.

Going today, just called, I pray they fix it as I cannot really afford to, but I won't let it go either. Thanks for the heads-up bud, I owe ya on this one.

Can't exactly agree with that. Recently I just had a 95-02 trunk painted. I was going to swap the tail lights, trunk mechanism, etc. So all I needed was it painted and cleared. This local bodyshop guy wanted only $200 for it. Yet this one guy down the street that does "good" work, wanted almost $400. I got the trunk back yesterday and it is perfect. So just cause someone charges more, doesn't always mean their quality is better.
Wasn't so lucky, figured GM could give a @!#$ about it, and I was right. I guess next time I need to drill holes and let them rust out before taking it in.
Ah well I'll suck it up.
I had the same problems. On all 4 of my doors there was alittle rust starting in the seams. I don't know exactly what they did but they guarentee their work for life, so if the rusts comes back through i am going in to raise hell. I think they would have cleaned it out and i know they put some sort of rust anti-oxidizer. Then painted over that in white. I don't plan on letting my car see another winter ever, As its sitting right now it looks great! I paid around $400 for mine at the dealership body shop.
being in MI joe your kinda screwed from the road salt , atleast thats how GM figures it
you might want to see how much more for them to repaint the whole car
since its hard to match 4-5 year old paint , since you cant add age to the paint
just a thought

Around $2000, and I don't have the money for that. Got the credit though

awww damn that sucks man. some dealers are more leanient than others we used to do almost any that the customer complained about just to get the work.
the space where the trunk seals has rust spots, i just cleande them out and coated it with some anti rust paint, cant even tell, but the sad thing mines a 03 should have thous galvanized door panels?
