RK sport

Ok well i have the RK sport lip kit on my car right now... its a 2001 SE and i am looking to get the RK sport street fire front end, but i heard it only fits GT's?? Now the reason i am getting this is because my intercooler sticks down and this will cover it but today i looked at the crush guard on my front bumper and it says "Pont SE " so i am wondering if there is a difference in the crush guard or mount positions of the GT bumper?

I'm sure it will work. You may need to trim the crush guard a little.

Cut your bumper reinforcement to tuck the Intercooler a bit more.

Sorry cutting of the bumper is out of the question here... and why would i? if it sticks up higher then the lowest point on the bumper? well when/ if i get the RK one on it will...

Well even right now the intercooler is up higher then the lowest part of my front RK lip on my bumper... just it stick down in the middle section where the lip comes up closer to the stock bumper and makes it look retarted ahahaha

Im pretty sure the only difference is the fender liners.

I actually thought that the Streetfire bumper was made to fit the 00-02 SE absorber, not the GT one.

The absorbers (crush guard) are most definitely different. When I swapped from my GT bumper to the SE one, I had to change it for the bumper to fit properly.

If the Streetfire bumper is actually made for the GT absorber, it will be worth your while to make the swap. The absorber provides support for the bumper and helps it keep the proper shape.

I had to cut down my 2000 GT absorber in order to fit the SE bumper properly when I did the swap to SE from GT. Alot of cutting and test fitting until it was perfect.

My 2 bits,

NeoJuice: It's worth your while to pick up the proper absorber for the SE bumper. I also cut down my GT one to get it to fit and it's not at all the same. The SE absorber supports the top properly and includes the bits to hang behind the openings and stuff.

Not only that, but you'll still have the proper resistance if you ever get into a minor accident. It would suck to take on a couple grand in damage because you blew your airbags in a 3 mph impact.

I have researched plenty.

I have found that you do not want to cut the crush gaurd at all, with this front

i have the se. got the streetfire front, and i had to trim maybe the bottom inch of the crush gaurd for it to fit on there right. if u dont trim the crushgaurd a bit the bumper will sit on the car funny. you only need to remove like 10% of the crush gaurd, not allot really.
