painting a lip kit

yeah just wanted to ask how hard would it be to paint a lip kit by myself. would it be so much work to do? cs i dont really want to pay someone to do it. has anybody done this? ive painted my interior before, and it came out as good as fiberglass, but i dont know if it will be the same thing.

I would definitely take it somewhere and have it done. A lip kit alone will not cost you much to have painted. If you do it yourself, you might save some money, but your lip kit will take a lot more abuse and scraping than your dash will. That's just my suggestion though. If you decide to do it yourself, post some pictures so we can see how it came out.

i've got a set of side skirts that i'm trying to get painted. every shop i've gone to wants at least 275 just for skirts...over 300 if they have to take them off the car and prep them.

GO PATS!!!

Get it done right the first time. Or spend more money getting it done right the second time.

When you get it done shop wise or yourself get some pic's up. I just got a 01' LS front lip myself but lucked out with it already silver. Now to find the side skirt's and rear lip...

the paint code is under your spare tire cover.

if you do it yourself, i can bet it turns out terrible. if you dont know how to paint or even prep for paint, dont even waste your time. if you mess it up, a body shop is just going to charge you more to fix everything you did wrong and taking off the old paint

just sand with 800 grit put on a couple of coats of tremclad then wet sand with 1500-2000 grit and then spray on clearcoat easy as pie and cheap as hell and tremclad will stick to anything!
