I searched this topic, but didn't find too many ideas on how to mount these things---all the posts were old, so I'm asking for new ideas.
Has anyone tried a different way of mounting these that doesn't require drilling the 7-8 holes for the clips in the rocker panel?
If I do drill the holes in the rocker panels, what can I do to make sure they are not going to rust out?
ANY ideas are appreciated.
Thanks guys
Saddly the holes are needed, but just seal them with paint and you should be fine. Thats what I did.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
Did you just use rattle can paint for that?
I was thinking of laying masking tape, then drilling my holes, then painting with the tape still on there so that it only goes in the holes. Sound like a reasonable idea?
Don't forget theres 8 holes UNDER the car you have to make in addition to the 8 for the side. Just dont use them, they suck hahaha.

There should ONLY be 8 holes under the car---in the rocker panel.....right?
There's 8 underneath for screws that go into the underside, and then on the side of the car, theres a bunch of clips that youll need to install.
Listening....I've got the LS sport side's too. Needing another passenger side, the one i got free was busted in the rear and a chunk's missing. Anyway's there's 8 clip's that attach to the rocker panel (top of molding) and 7 tab's that attach on the underneath (bottom of molding). I was thinking the same thing, screw w/ washer to attach it on the rocker panel, self tapping screws on the bottom.
