here is the deal guys. 2001 cavalier wings west avenger front and sides with rk-sport type j rear. car goes to paint may first to become impulse blue. off the pontiac gto. I have a carbon fiber ss hood, should i paint it blue to match the car or keep it the way it is.
^^^ what he said! do it like this! i would think it would look extremely hot! (sorry if its the wrong blue, and looks really retarted but it gets the point out! lol if you cant tell the black is the cf parts!)

X2!! I think that's pretty hot. I'm going that route once I get my hood.
i think its gross
spending $400 for a real quality product and just paintin it...
hmm...your call
i guess you just dont really like CF or wanna real 'sleeper' look
Would you paint a fiberglass hood?
That's a quality product too.
Seriously. When people leave cf parts completely unpainted, that looks to me like they've cheaped out and couldn't be bothered.
Paint it to match and, if you want, leave some parts visible to show off the cf. The whole thing will then be protected by the clear coat.
I like what rawkfist photoshopped except would do the exact opposite. Paint it blue and leave the section forward of the scoop in cf.
i would say paint the whole hood and just leave the scoop cf,
or better bet trade me your hood for my evo so u ant got to mess up such a nice ss hood jk
yeah i thought about painting it all and leavin the scoop forward in cf, i guess it will either be that why are just all painted blue. i have until may to think about it so i guess i will have a decision by then. thanks for the help though guys.
Paint the whole thing.
Too many people think the purpose of CF is to look neato. When I do a CF hood and trunk they will be getting painted as well.
YEAH DO IT.... trust me it loooks bad ass... heres what i did w/ my carbon hood... and do me a fav dont copy my design....

thanks

it does look alot better in person tho...
^^ok now that is just ugly
just playing, thats sweet! nice work!
I'm a fan of mostly painted, with smidge of carbon peeking through the design. Looks really good on dark cars.

yes paint it. i think c/f hoods look out of place unless there is some paint. (Darkstars hood is the best)

haha thanks... had me going there for a few
I thought it was hard or exspensive to paint cf so most just left them natural.
98 j-body sedan
i disagree i dont think its about $$$.....its all what color combo's your attempting to accomplish...for example a CF hood on an all silver car would look amazing because of the way they contrast....now if u painted that hood silver i think it would kill the whole look...just my thoughts
All though the hoods in the pics above are very creative as sweet...they look awesome!
if your going to paint it, I personally wouldn't waste your money on a carbon fiber hood...most carbon fiber hoods on the market are just fiberglass hoods with a layer of carbon fiber over them making them no lighter. The only real purpose of these hoods are for looks, so to pay extra for a layer of fiber then to completly paint over it would be a waste....dont get me wrong, some companies make full carbon fiber hoods and then it would make more sense to paint it. guess what im really tryin to say is if you like the look of cf, dont completly paint it....if you dont like the look of cf, dont buy a cf hood

IMO I'd partial paint that S.O.B. hehe ok, im done now
i dont understand what the point of buying a carbon fiber hood is if you're just going to paint it then, i always thought you bought them like that to be like wow holy @!#$ my hood is carbon fiber lYkE wOoO2w!1
but wow, twizted cavy's hood is boner worthy, that cav is gorgeous.

x2, Darkstars is one of my favorites if you're looking into painting it partially. I also agree with jz, It depends on your car. I personally don't think it would look contrasting with darker colors, cept maybe black. Ha, listen to us, sounding like fashion designers.
"Man with my windows tinted and badges gone I'll be able to do 200 mph easy. Do stickers add horsepower?"
why not a corvete C2 1964 stingray style scoop graphic ?
something like that but replace the blue by the CF and the black with your paint color
BTW tehres a thin pinstripe around the big block of color
