i would have to say take agood peek at your wiring i've had to almost rewirethe whole headlight on my pass. side... seems the rain and radiator is corroding the wires easily...take a probe to see if your getting current to the low beam wire... i've had to rip it apart 4 times now...

Its gotta be your bulb. Mine did the same exact thing. I replaced the bulb and presto, good to go. When i looked at the bulb it physically looked fine, no burnt filaments or anything. But when i flipflopped bulbs the other side went on and the side that went on before didnt work. Thats how i diagnosed the bulb being bad. Try that and come back

heh. Seriously. Have you tried changing the bulb? That flashing of the CEL on startup is the car's way of telling you a bulb is out.

Sounds to me like you've way over-analysed the problem.

The DRL and high beam filament is the same. The headlight filament is seperate.
