Okay so I bought an LS front bumper from ebay and got it painted and everything, but it is a really tight fit, so I took it off. I was wondering if the 2000-2002 LS/Z24's have a different front bumper support than the base and if I could maybe trim it down a little bit. It fit fine before it was painted and I really need some help trying to make it fit properly, because I spent $400 on the front end of my car and I do not want to have just thrown away my money. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you mean the plastic crush guard or the metal bumper behind the crush guard?
trim the crush guard. it should fit perfectly though. if its tight just cut back the crush guard in the areas its tight and you'll be fine
yeah, when i put my 00 z bumper on i had to modify the stryofoam off my 96 Z24 bumper to fit.. i just cut off the headlight tabs and then shaved down the front a bit cuz it was more pointed. had to take like 1/4" off it.. so thats all ull have to do.. i do think modifiying the plastic one would be harder than the styrofoam block i got. but thats all u gotta do.. or remove it completely..
You honestly shouldnt have to do anything. All the 00-02 bumpers are the same (except the fact that some had lips and some had fogs). Over all they are the same.

^tru, but its a new aftermarket bumper im sure. not original GM production. so it may be a tighter fit. i bought a aftermarket fender and it fit tighter and a lil off.. so that could easily be why.
You could always take it out and see if the bumper fits fine without it.. then u know u need to modify the crushguard.. im running my z24 bumper right now with no crush guard.. doesnt seem to cause any problems..
I think I am going to have to trim it down, I don't want to totally remove it. The bu,per fit on the car with the guard, it was just a tight fit, so tight that when I had it held on with the clips on the fenders, one side kept popping off. I also had to kind of force it over the crush guard, so I think I am going to trim it. Thanks for all the help guys, I appreciate it.
