sunfire spoiler on a cavalier?
Saturday, April 01, 2006 10:11 AM
went to the junkyard to find some door panels for my cavalier and ended up getting a sunfire spoiler. there was one on a cavy, but it was busted up on one side. grrrrrr. anywho, my first question is...will it fit a cavy trunk lid w/o any mod's to it? it's the one that was on the far end of the trunk, not the one close to the rear glass. second, it had adhesive on it....can i get that at any auto parts store?

hopefully it won't look like crap. and if it does, oh well....i'm only out $20.

im pretty sure you'll have to dril all new holes for the spoiler. If you would have posted you were looking for one, i would have sent ya mine... oh well....

if it was a 4-door fire wing, i dont think you should have any problems with the holes lining up.
good luck with everything!

yeah, i know i'll have to drill holes ( i currently don't have a spoiler ). wish i would had a pencil and paper with me when i got it so i could have marked where the holes go. and i believe it was a 4 door. and it's the same color as my car. so i shouldn't have to repaint it!! just clean it up good and buff out the scratches. that's not entirely true, there is a crack by the brake light. is it best to glass over it? or will bondo do just fine? i'll try to post some pics of it later.

sorry godspeed, getting the sunfire wing was a spur of the moment thing. not to often you find something in that good of shape at a junk yard. i also saw a whole sunfire interior - door panels, console, and entire dash ( airbags not deployed!! ) i hope it's still there when i go back, but that's for another forum.

it is an exact replica of the stock one. wait a couple of days and i will also have strips of 5 red Laser LED's encased in chrome housings. two of them fit PERFECT in the J-Body 3rd brake light housing. just check back at my store in a few days.
good luck with everything man.

Thats the same spoiler GM put on the 04 spring special cars. The ones with the factory
raceing stripes and door sill plates. I think it looks pretty good actualy and for 20 bucks

i just need to clean it up and fix that crack. my weekend project if it doesn't rain. if i get all that done, i'm gonna bolt it on. can i use just regular bolts? or do they have to be the star shaped ones that were used? and, should i slap a coat of rust'o paint where i drill the holes? i'm gonna use adhesive as extra hold and hope that'll help keep some moisture out.
