i have been in contact with a company who makes these "Magic Touch" shaved handle kits. They are touch sensors, that look like shaved handles, but still function for opening the door. go to the website listed below and watch the video.

now, they arent produced for cavs, but they agreed to produce them if we get 10 people to buy in. the price is a little steap, but i think its worth it. look of shaved handles, with the touch pop mechanism, and no painting of the door needs to be done.
they are asking $399 per handle, so $798 for the pair. now, i know most on JBO are cheap and will never pay that. i on the other hand would pay it. so if not interested, dont post here. no need for negative comments about the product or price. this thread is just to see if theres enough interest to start a GP.

well, technically, it can be seamless. the mechanism can be placed behind the body panel to work. but it wont be produced to do so, unless we get 10 people.
i didnt like that part either, but it still looks a ton better than just handles IMO

^^^thats the problem. we're talking about this being produced by this company from scratch. they had no plans to do a Cav setup like this, so its kind of a favor to us. they have to pay for all the R&D. so they have to recoop that cost.
but if we get the first 10 done, im sure the price would come down then

Dude guys... being in the aftermarket industry let me tell you this. These things are AWESOME!
Say them at SEMA on several rides...most of which were bodyworked in to be seamless. They are in fact rather easy to bodywork, since the plate it the perfect size as the opening by design.
If I still had my Cav I'd be in for sure (though for a 4 door its twice as expensive). In fact I already contacted them once about it, but they said they wouldn't do Cavaliers until I could get
20 people interested, so they ARE listening, as the price came down as well as the number of needed people on the GP.
Don't be cheap Economy car owners...go with the Best stuff, not cheapy Autoloc poppers or some other crap.

ok, I know they can be molded in, but they say they come prepainted, does this also mean they can be stripped and repainted or just painted over? Or will this mess them up? I don't plan on going with a factory color with my car.....

^^i would assume its repaintable, especially if people have successfully molded them in. if you molded them in, you would have to then paint.
on another note. another reason i liek these, is it costs pretty close to the same as actually shaving the handles, but without the risks of it. with these, you can always pull them out, sell them, and put the stock handles back on. and its totally reversable.

they are very nice i have seen and used them if i didnt have my handles shaved already i would be in for sure. anyone who got these wouldnt be dissapointed!
