I replaced me stock 98 read bumper with a stock 00-02 rear bumper so i can have the dual outlets. Well everything fits but the bottum screw hole on the inside fenders doesn't line up, not even close. Is this normal?
SE or GT bumper ? is yours a SE sunfire? if ur useing a fire GT bumper on ur SE the GT bumper is made more like a body kit so the screw holes will sit lower then the base and SE ones will or GM screwed up and put the holes in the wrong sports on the car it came from

nope mines aSE and the car it came from is an SE. everything else on the bumper lines up but the bottom screw holes on both sides. The bumper sticks out like 1" away from the screw holes and it doesn't push in enough to line them up
might be a bit wider in them years then ur 98

might be... it also looks like there is a bigger gap between the trunk lid, tail lights and the bumper
could also be a aftermarket/replacement part which never fit like OEM stuff

Wait, is it a GT Bumper? Did you happen to remove the screws from the inside of the trunk, there's 1 on each side on mine. Any pics of where it doesnt fit?
well there really isn't a GT bumper in the 00-02 modles is there? i thought they were all the same. But no this bumper came off a wrecked 00-02 silver sunfire se in a junk yard. nothings wrong with the bumper and the rear of the car wasn't affected by the crash, i go to school for auto body so i checked it out good to make sure nothing was wrong. I'll take pics of the bumper tomorrow if i can get a hold of my camera.
suppried no one said this alrdy...
but your probly is you need to either remove or trim the crush guard.
u need a gap under the trunk lid so that the bumper dont rub
