rear defrost removal?

wasnt sure if i should put this in interior or exterior, but ......... searching provided nothing.

so has anyone removed the defrost lines from the rear window? would you just use a razor blade to scrape them off? or maybe some chemical? i wanna get rid of mine since there is no need for it in my car. id like to have a nice clean/clear window for shows. im almost toying with the idea of just replacing the entire window with new glass that dosent have the defrost on it.

any help is appreciated

ive scraped off part of the defrost lines, and they come off pretty easy, but you can still see the lines where they were. which is what im looking to get rid of.

ive actually scraped off part of the dot matrix as well. not easy, but can be done

^^^^^^^ it is possible, they where built with out defrost, but it was rare. at work there is a search option for it. try car-part.com and look for the non heated back glass. just make sure you see the glass before you buy it.

joe are ur stripes u seeing from removing the defrost actually lines or just like fade marks or something? u can buy stuff to buff windows that is supposed to get rid of small lines or chips in windows.. u could try using that all over the window see if that removes the marks..

Btw wanna send me the defroster tabs that u pulled off that connect the window to the wires?

i scraped my heated windows of in my honda. when i was removing the tint and the lines were sunk into the window. so there was no way of getting rid of the lines and i think the same gose for us. so you should just get a new window without a dot matrix or anything.
problem solved!
what was the whole point of the dot matrix? what was it desighned for?
