Hey,
I need a new trunk and I found one today at the junkyard but it's off an 01 Sunfire.
1. Will it fit my 04 Sunfire if I swap out the filler panel??
2. Is there any way to see if it is the same paint (white) without having the VIN or paint code?? (like is there a universal white code for that year and my year)
I did search but I didn't find much because i wasn't too sure what to search under.

All Sunfire coupe lids are the same from 95-05. It was the filler panel that changed in 03, which gives the appearance that it changed overall...
Structurally however, they are the same.
Same concept as 95-99 Cav hoods and 00-02 hoods. Headlights and bumper changed, but the hood stayed the same. Gives the illusion that the hood changed as well.
I believe that GM used the same white in 01 as in 04.

Thats what I was hoping.
I think the swapping of the filler panels should be pretty easy too. I know the 03-05 comes off really easy. I remember the 95-02 having like glue all under the panel but im not sure if that was all years or not.
I might see if I can grab a paint code tomorrow to compare to my cars code.
Also, does anyone know what would be best to fill a deep scratch in the filler panel?? Would body filler work?? I know the panel is plastic but idk what the body filler works best on. Either that or some kind of platic bumper repair or something (fusor or something).

negative. just the quick nuts. there might be some sort of moisture seal near the reverse light area on the 00-02 lids since the reverse lights were moved to the bumper but I'm not 100% sure.
