A quick question for anybody who has installed the wings west front lip on an 00-02 cavalier. How did you actually install it?
I am missing the front lip on my cav, but it used to have the stock LS lip on it before I bought the car. So I do have the little slots cut out in the bumper for the stock lip.
My question really is, does the wings west lip use those stock cut outs, or do I install it someway else?
Thanks
not positive, but if its anything like the WW rear lip, it goes on with 3m double sided tape around the rim where it meets the bumper, and screws in the fender well.
I guess as a follow up question...how secure is that? I just don't have too much faith in having the car being held together by some tape....
well....surprisingly, the 3m tape is pretty strong. but you gotta make sure you get the dark grey "outdoor" tape. the white is indoor and wont work for more than a day or 2 in the sun/rain.
most body kits......the skirts are held on the same way. 3m tape and bolts in the wheel wells
Ahhhh, see, i was picturing the clear double sided tape...that makes sense...Thanks!
ya...this stuff is kind of a "foamy" like tape. they sell it at autozone, advanced auto, even walmart.
but again, im not positive if this is how it mounts. im just basing this off the WW rear lip.
Eazy is right that is excatly how its installed. 3m doublesided tape anda screw on each side to hold it in place. Also when you put the peice on start from the middle and work your way out. It helps lesson the hassel of the peice flopping around on you. I really cant explain it in text but that gives you an idea on how to mount it. Hope that helps
just make sure its clean as @!#$ before you start or youll be doing it again or worse, getting a new lip
