silcone lube for engine detailling

Hey,

Spring is rolling around and I'm gonna be doing some detailing this week. I will start off with the engine because its dirty and I had an oil leak. Now I have some silicone lube here and I read that it can be used as a dressing for engine hoses and make it look good. However the can says its flammable and I'm afraid it will catch on fire. Can someone comment on this?

The lube itself isn't really flammable, its the propellant in the can that goes WOOSH.

silicone will evaporate quickly when you spray it on (its a spray not a tub of it right?). i wouldnt worry. its also spost to be good for the weather stripping.
