I don't know if this is a feature that came on cavs with sunroofs or not. But when the sun is shining bright enough in the right direction my sunroof opens all the way back. But when it is dimmer outside it will only open about a third of the way. Is there someway I can bypass something so it opens all the way all the time?

ummm it should open the hwole way all thetime. something is in the track or its is WAY too cold out

My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again
i had a problem with my sunroof last year. it would do something a lot like yours is doing but it would get stuck in some positions. turns out the switch was shorted and caused the motor to go bad had. both replaced havent had a problem since.

Check the tracks, for debris and lubricate everything, if this does not make a difference try checking the electrical components.
buy my brand new sunroof.. i took it out within a few months to replace with a rag
My sunroof will open 3 quarters of the way open and not go any farthur but it opens and closes just fine, just not all the way. I guess I should check the tracking and make sure everything fits right?
Also, when the sunroof is closed all the way and it rains or I give the car a bath, the sunroof leaks and water gets into the dome light. Could there be a bad seal somewhere??

If your sunroof is factory installed any water leaking around the seal on the sliding glass piece should go into a drain channel. There should be some plastic tubes used to drain the water from these channels, it may be worth checking to see if they are plugged up and not draining correctly.
wait wait, 3/4 of the way opening? does it only go as far back as the sliding thing underneath it? cause the sunroof doesnt come ALL the way out no matter what. take a pic next time so we can quickly diagnose

can someone please post pics where the drain lines are at for our sunroofs. i keep getting puddles in my passenger floor when it rains a lot and think its because of the drain lines being clogged. thanks
