i have a z24 front bumper being put on the car, is there any diff between a base model and z24 crushguard?...also i have a factory cluster with no tach, i want to switch to one with a tach, what is involved in this?...just switching clusters or is there something needed to go along. i was at a local bone yard yesterday and seen a few cavies with them and thought about doin the swap

well you give no years that ur talking about so im gonna assume the 97. base and z24 crushguards are different yes. z24 ones are made out of formed foam and the base is the black plastic honeycomb. z24 is also more "formed" to the z24 bumper so it fits in there and supports almost everypoint of the bumper, the honeycomb is kinda of blocky and doesnt seem to hug the inside of the bumper like the foam.

as for clusters.. as long as u make sure if you have a manual or 3spd or 4spd auto that the new cluster is the same you SHOULDNT have any problems.. then you just need to swap out the odometer(easy, just takes some time removing all the bolts) and plug it in and do the Theftlock or whatever you need to do. cuz youll try to start the car and itll stall out. youll need to do the steps to reprogram the cluster to the car.

as for the tranny type, in my old 96 i put one with 3spd in when i was 4spd and u'd be surprised all the stuff it messes up blows fuses and makes all kinds of cool lights flash..
