i am going to be installing lambo hinges this week and was just wondering about the fenders coming off. what else has to come off to get them off??? im fearing that i will have to take off the hood and headlights and that would be quite the p.i.t.a. butt if thats what needs to be done....
yeah, the hood and headlights have to come off to get to all the bolts (sideskirts too, if you have them).
it's not very hard to take all that stuff off.
i didnt pull any of that off for mine i just pulled the doors i didnt want to have to re aline all of that
pulling the doors off (imo) is harder than taking off the front panels. if you leave the doors on the car, it's much easier to line up the new hinges. fenders, hood and headlights can be taken off in no time, and put back on easily.
well to each there own thats how i did mine
well im going for whatever will be easiest for me to get the doors lined up right. thanks
Remove fenders first.... TRUST ME, LOL!!
remove your hood, headlights, and fender...trust me, it just makes it easier to install the hidge with the fenders off.
Keep the door on when installing the hinge...it helps line up the door later on.
It's a fairly easy install, the longest part to the job is extending all the wires (esp if you have automatic locks and windows).
just locks. it should be pretty easy. wiring doesnt bother me. ill post up some pics when its done. they go on on tuesday. mmaybe ill snap a couple with my eclipse in it. just got rims for that one.
my personal advice on them (i installed mine myself without a second set of hands):
TOOLS:
-Terry cloth towels
-Ratchet tie downs
-3/8" ratchet
-long extention(makes the bottom fender bolts much easier)
-10mm shallow socket
-13mm shallow socket
You wanna remove your fenders and hood.(headlights I didn't need to remove on my cav. I don't get that part people are saying..)
Then roll your windows down
Put the ratchet straps around the window frame part of the doors. One just above the mirror sails, and one at the rear top corner of the doors. MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE TERRY CLOTH TOWELS ON THE PAINTED PART OF THE DOOR UNDER THE RATCHET STRAPS!
One the door is snugly held on by the latch and ratchet straps, the 10mm socket is used to remove the hood and fenders (2 bolts holding the fender to the bumper, 2 bolts on the bottom of the fender forward of the door, and 4 along the top under the hood.)
Once the fenders and hood are removed, you should have perfect access to the hinges. Simply use the 13mm socket to remove all the bolts and take the hingest off.
The lambo hinges might need some jimmying to get in there, but they should pop right on the studs.
Now, 2 of the nuts may be too big for the places on the hinges. you can buy new ones or swap em with nuts on the strut tower.
Once theyre bolted on get a friend to help lift the door as you install the struts.
Once that is done, you just spend a lot of time adjusting and aligning everything. you should be able to find the adjustment screws.
that is all i got as far as i can remember, it was well over a year ago that i had em.
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

^^^yup, thats how i did mine
lined up perfect first try
took about an 30 minutes per hinge
Yeah, listen to these guys. Everything they said is the CORRECT way to do the install. The wiring should take longer than the actual hinge install. Good luck!
i am confident that the wiring is a piece of cake. its just extending. but thanks guys. they go on in the morning. im not sure what im more excited about. getting them or how much i paid for them!!!!
and they are on!!!! i put up a post in photos and media. thanks to everyone who helped
your welcome. i hope my info helped.
