I heard from one of my friends who shoots cars all the time that his friend who didn't have a garage or place to lay down paint rented a storage unit for a month, and painted it in there..
Has anyone heard of such a thing? I think it would be restricted somehow, but if it has been done before, I am going to go at it!
Just rent a unit for one month, and drop the unit after all the work is done!
If there are pros and cons, PLEASE let me know. I am going to heavily research limitations and such.
One major con i would think would be the ventilation / fumes?

get your car ready for paint, and I'm sure you can rent out a spray booth and spray your own car.

I don't know of any spray booths in Hartford, CT area.
I'm just curious if it is possible to use a storage unit?

i would think it would be awfully close quarters, plus they might question all the paint int he booth

My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again
most the units hear can just fit a car in, or are so huge its not something u just rent to paint a car.. plus around here atleast none ive seen have power outlets.. so how you plan on running your compressor? power inverter in the car?
Yup no outlets, no way of controlling the temp/ humidity for proper painting, not to mention the overspray that will without a doubt travel to ajoining storage units, along with all the fumes, good luck explaining that to the renters in the other units, and their lawyers....

. Just talk to some local paint shops, many will agree to let you use there booth in exchange for you cleanin up their shop for a month or so...

could bring in a generator!
...
i've known a few guys that have done it, but all them around here are individually ventilated
I built a PVC frame and Covered it with plastic. set lights on the outside to shine through. I would have worked great if i hadn't sold the car before i could paint it. But this frame structure is what we use when we are spraying bedliners down at the dealership
I actually was talking to a few friends of mine, and one of my friend's dad has a small garage he has converted into a spraying booth.
I think i found my solution!
He isn't even going to charge me anything.
