carbon fiber for modified door handle cover

I did a different thing with my door handles. I cut them down in size (the width is smaller), My plan is to use a cut down door handle cover that matches the cut down door handles on my sedan.

I am now thinking that it would look better to carbon fiber the cut down door handle cover with carbon fiber.

I don't think anyone has done this before but I could be wrong about that.

I bought the ABS handle covers from Joshua (Izn) and then I am going to cut them to fit my modified door handles. I knew I couldn't buy the carbon fiber door handle covers from Josh and then start cutting them down with out messing them up totally.

I did this door handle mod after filling in the indent below the door handles with body putty. I think it has some potential if I can finish the door handle covers correctly.

***My question is how would I get the carbon fiber to look good? Do you put down the fitted carbon fiber on the door handle cover & then use a resin to finish the handle cover? What kind of resin do I use? I have seen a resin at Auto Zone that works with the fiberglass cloth they have.

Don't have a fortune to spend on getting this done, but like the idea of carbon fiber. Does anyone have a small strip of 2 1/2 inch wide & 24 inches long of Black or grey carbon fiber they could sell me? I would gladly pay for the carbon fiber and postage.

Once I have all this done I will glue them to my cut down door handles on the car.

It may be easier to paint the door handle covers but I like the carbon fiber effect.

Looks like this mod got more complicated than I wanted it to get.

Don't have any pics because my camera went out. Have to go buy a new camera and right now I am spending all my money on my car so I can get it on the road again. I know what you mean Philly D about this being a tragedy. I don't want anyone else trying this. When I am done I am sure I will get some pics taken if I have to borrow a camera.
I think it will work for me but I think it isn't the right thing to do because of the problems that can crop up.
This was an experiment and I am going with it. I plan on doing the handles the best way I can. I have more guts than good sense some times. I do like the way they look but want a more finished look and that is why I am going to do the handle covers.

All I need right now is how to do the handle covers with carbon fiber if that is a possibility for some one with no experience with this.
