So like the title says, this is a feeler thread for interest in Stainless Steel Ecotec spark plug cover for the 2.2L motor. Currently, MRZ Performance only offers SS spark plug covers for the 2.0L motor.

I myself was interested in a set up for my 2.2L but Mathieu at MRZ says that we need a few people interested in them so that they can start mass producing them. You can get them with any emblem or custom engraving, same as the 2.0L motor.
Just so everyone is aware of it, here is the email from Mathieu detailing the plans:

Anyways, I don't think we need a certain number of custom badges or engravings rather a number of people that actually are interested. So that MRZ can plan out the base and work from there.
So.....
What will happen next is after we get a number of people on, who ever wants something totally custom will have to submit the images or ideas to me so I can forward them to Mathieu so he can get an idea if they can do it / extra pricing for a custom engraving.

this just gives them an idea of what people are looking for. plus if you have 10 supercharged emblems then hopefully the cost could be spread among them instead of one person fronting the $50 for set up and everyone else riding the coat tails. tho it does and will happen.

MRZ will start looking into it once they get a feel of how many people are serious about ordering one. They are aware of the fact that it sits on the cover unlike the 2.0L Ecotec. But obviously they don't want to pour research into something that wont sell right off the bat
They have wanted to do these for a while now, but no one has spoken up until now.

I think it is a $50 flat fee for
any custom engraving cut on any part they produce. I may be wrong, good question though, I will have to ask. They have "standard" engravings that cost nothing and then what they consider "custom" which can cost up to $50 to have done. Mathieu said it varies depending on the size and complexity of the custom engraving.
SO far it looks like it will all be custom engravings.
But you are right, it might cost less for people who want a certain cut. i.e. Supercharged Ecotec.
We'll see how things go, I'll let Mathieu know that there is already some interest in the project after the first night of posting.

I doubt it will be any different that if you were to purchase the 2.0L Cover w/ or w/o a custom cut. But I'll see what a projected cost per unit could be seeing as how they are starting from scratch.

So we are at 7 people right now. For the guys that don't know what they want for a color / emblem, let me know in the coming weeks. I want to get a definite idea of cost for custom emblems, but I have a feeling that Mathieu won't be able to tell me anything unless I can give him an idea of what people want. If you check out the 2.0L it is a full piece of stainless steel. Not a stick on or anything like that. I will have to see if I can get them to do a cad drawings or something like that to see what they are planning to do with the ICM. I'll post up when I hear something a bit more on the design.

From what the 2.0L cover is like, it is a "bolt-on" replacement. Some applications are a stick on but MRZ use a general statement for the description of it. When ever Mathieu gets back to me about it, I will talk more with him about the actual design of the part and let everyone know.
