ik this may go in electonics, but i thought it'd get move views here, my questions are, what type if there is a certain type of strobe should i use in my headlights, 2) what about for behind my grill, and 3) wheres good places, and fair prices for strobes...
i got a killer set from autozone for 15 bucks its got 4 strobes that are really powerful n has diff setings they can mount any where cause they use doublesided tape. also for the lamps i suggest ones with a rubber groment so it kinda seals the lamp again so u dont fog them with moisture.

ha tru, any tips when it comes to wiring, i wanna have 2 square blue strobes, wired seperate, and the headlights wired seperate
run to any ground and then tap the parking lamp positive, run to a set of switches so ur corners come on and then u flip one of 2 switches on the inside to activate either or strobes that u want. if u dont want ur pklmps on with the strobes then tap ur cig ligter positive.
ic ic, could i run it to a fuse instead, uk, like when u run a deck, and the second power is to like the speedo fuse, so when ever u turn the car on u run power to the strobes, then a switch.....basically can i use a fuse ha
actually strobes behind the grille are illegal because i had a 2001 crown vic (ex cop car) and i put strobes it the headlights, turnsignals, reverse lights, and tail lights and the grille and got busted for all of them in PA the ticket that a cop will give u is 107.50 for illegal lights, thats just displaying them they dont even have to be hooked up, just having them is illegal but me personally, i would strobe everything and say to he!! with the cops.
yea, but i dont wanna f' around with splicing into the power wires into the parking or anything else, couldnt i just run a wire to the battery
not to thread jack but i sortta have a ? like this as well but i wanna mount some in my sunfire headlights.. has anyone done this?? if so how do u go about drillin into the headlight? i have whelen strobes and izn projectors and am a lil iffy on breaking the headlight

yeah just put a inline fuse so if it ever ground it dont start a fire.
I have a set of whelen 20w strobes mounted inside my 03 Sunfire headlights. All that had to be done was drilling a 1" hole and the put a little sealant around the strobe after inserting. The strobes and lights have been working perfectly ever since, been done for more than a year.
what about the drill shavings, how to u get them out, vacum? lol i mean ik it may be a stupid question, but i dont them in there, ...im doing the install tomorrow morning
hmm as for drilling shavings i guess take out the light bulb and try to shake them out? haha just a guess im not sure myselve...i was just afraid of breakin it when drilling
yea, i passed on drilling them in, i put them in where my highbeams are right now, and just let them chill right there, its winter so idc to much, come spring ill get into it more, and u can tell the cheap-o-ness of these, but eh, they work
After drilling I just used a vacuum to get out as much of the shavings as possible. It was very simple and easy to do. Only took maybe 15 - 20 minutes to prep, drill and clean out. I also have some whelen tir3's mounted just inside the grill on my sunfire. Do some looking around on oznium.com and you can see some videos and pictures. You can also look on youtube as I have a few videos there that showcase my strobes and other lighting.
I have actual police strobes LOL had to sell a nut to get them but they are the brightest i have ever seen and look sweet as all hell on most sets if you look at the bulbs you can tell if they are cheaper or not... my bulb is about an inch round and goes up makes a curl and goes down on the other side, the glass part itself is about 2/3 if an inch thick... i also have a box that makes them zig zag, chase, 3 flash (which means they flash 3 times all together), and a few others... and with my set i can add as many bulbs as i want, right now i have one in each of the front turn signals, one in each bright headlight area, one in each taillight, and one in each reverse light. 8 total and when they are on people definitely notice but i only turn mine on when I'm parked or at shows all the cops around here know i have them and the only time i would have any problems is if they were turned on when i am on the road other then that i have never had any issues

yea, i wish i could spend alot of strobes, but i mean its just for a novelty right now and shows, so if these work out, great if now only 12 bucks, im really leaning towards cathodes in the grill, and just led'n the f**k outa her
I understand completely with what your saying and i always said the same thing except the $12 - $20 strobes kept going out and i always had problems with them then i figured i am spending the amount i would on the expensive set by constantly replacing the cheap one's so i decided to get the heavy duty ones i have had them for 3 years without any problems so for me it was worth it

Slytly Twiztid it sounds like you have a whelen strobe set. Whelen strobes are a heck of a lot better than any cheap set you can buy at autozone or somwwhere similar.
