busted kit trouble

hey guys, i have a drift kit and it seems like every time it flexes or scrapes just a little bit the stupid thing cracks.
i was wondering if it would be worth the trouble to lay a couple more layers of fiber glass on the inside of it to maybe stiffen
it up? or would that just make it worse?

if it like the one i used to have then they are thin layers so i had the same issue and i added like 4 more layers to the back side and it stiffened it up and next to stopped the cracking of bumping stuff.

It couldn't hurt, although the best thing would be not to flex or scrape it

Seriously, it'll definitely help.

x2 If I would have known you were gonna bust the kit up that quick, we wouldn't have put all that time into making it look good for you and just sold it to you cheaper.

it only cracks where its been fixed. i don't think its anything that you guys did though. cause the patches that are breaking look old as hell. i dunno? im gonna lay 3 or 4 more layers on it and reinfore the holes

The original owner of the kit was a girl. She cracked it a couple times, and her hackjob brother was the one who would patch it up. Thats why it looked so rough on the inside of the kit. We just fixed all the visible damage to it, and made it look nice again. My suggestion.... Quit running it into things because no matter how much glass you put in it it's going to crack when you hit something.

if there are existing cracks, i would drill out the ends to stop it from continueing to crack

then glass.

All the cracks we fixed were drilled out, but I have no clue about the damage that was already "fixed" before we got the kit.

right

the only correct way to fix it would be to drill holes at the ends of the crack to prevent the crack from spreading more. glassing right over it will only allow it to crack in the future
