It's not such a problem in the summer, but when it gets cold out my side skirts shrink and pull my fender into my door. When I open my door it pops my fender. I will need to replace my fenders after this winter, but is there any way to lengthen them being that they are urethane?
I have extended 2 sets of fiberglass side skirts by cutting the ends off and spacing them out with cardboard wrapped in aluminum foil taped to the outside then glass it on the inside, but I have never worked with urethane.
Has anyone else had this problem? How did you fix it?!
Thanks!
its gonna be pretty hard to extend urethane. can you just take your skirts off for winter?

coming back in 2008...
That's the only thing I've came up with so far. I should change it to say that the only time it doesnt do it is when it's hot. I would guess that arround degrees is when they start to contract enough that it pops. Any colder and it just gets worse. Maybe Ill just buy a new set of sides...
try sanding the inside lip off where it screws into the fender.. find out kinda how much it pulls in and kinda shave a bit off the inner edge.. had to do that to a set i had/have.
Manta Z has the best suggestion. Personally, I wouldn't even want to try to extend urethane, any structural integrity will go right out the window. if they're that tight, sanding/shaving a teeny bit off of where it screws into the fender in the front, and maybe the rear if needed should take care of the problem.... otherwise I'd either get new side skirts or remove them for the winter all together
i know of one way to do it, but i personally wouldnt want to chance ruining a perfectly good set of urethane skirts.
why not just take them off for winter?
